President Biden and Vice President Harris in my opinion must do better than the previous holders of these positions. President Biden is proposing a 1.5 trillion additional stimulus spending package. People require help due to various reasons and there is no doubt that Covid-19 has been a major setback for many families. So, the question is who’s paying for this much-needed stimulus relief package? The answer is the taxpayers (you and I).
This type of occurrence (stimulus relief) happens all too often so we must begin to control our financial situation for ourselves and our families. The way we begin this process is by investing early. The main component of investing is that wealth is accumulated over time, so starting early is very important. Let’s examine a few things to put the aforementioned concept into the proper perspective. Remember when there were no remote controls for our televisions but over time we all now have remotes for our TV’s. Do you recall when you first entered high school and how quickly those years went by? Over time we all grow older so start investing now because the years pass a lot faster than you can imagine. Our children emulate that which we do. Therefore, when our children see us investing and we discuss with them the importance of investing they too will eventually adopt these principles and pass them on to their children. I am not sure about you but my mother didn’t discuss investing with me or my siblings and that’s because she was not taught this very important financial strategy.
We can continue to expect others to care for us and some may want you to be dependent. However, I believe in taking care of myself. The government can only do so much and what is done by the government is never enough to sustain you. Many say that all they want is to be comfortable. Guess what? To be comfortable you have to be financially secure. I say to each of you that has not started investing, get started, and talk with your children and grandchildren about investing. The earlier you start the better your financial future will be. Don’t depend on the government, work hard and depend on your abilities. You can achieve anything that you focus your mind on.
