How to live a peaceful life

There are lyrics to a song by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five that goes like this: It’s like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how I keep from going under”. “Don’t push me cause I’m close to the edge, I’m trying not to lose my head”. These lyrics seem to depict the response that many of us have to what’s going on in the world today. There’s the pandemic, mass shootings, racism, and hate. What do we have to do to receive healing? What can we do to not lose our heads?

The answer is self-respect and respect for others. Respect me and my individuality while I respect you and your differences. What you don’t like done to you, don’t do to others. Live and let live. When you point the finger at me you have three fingers pointing back at you.
Once you begin to consider others in all that you do your life becomes a whole lot more peaceful. Do this and you won’t be on the edge and you definitely won’t lose your head. Always think before you act and most of all consider the effect your actions will have on others. Live a life you and your children can be proud of.
