The Resilience of African Americans

African Americans have faced many atrocities in this country. We have endured slavery, sharecropping, segregation, Jim Crow, desegregation and now it seems our community is being decimated by police shootings and targeted by hateful groups and hateful rhetoric. Now, when we rise, become determined, and take our power back to choose our political leaders we have a backlash. When will it end? We don’t know, but what we do know is that we can make it through this. We are still standing. We must continue to voice our concerns and demand our rights. Black lives do matter. We are not “less than”. We are the foundation upon which this country was built.

Throughout the years we have been robbed of land, inventions, rights, and our humanity. We have been compared to animals but the savages that invaded the Capital on January 6, 2021, have been called good, American citizens. We know the truth. We know that we are black excellence personified, now we need to project it. Take our strength from enduring all the horrible things that this country had to offer for many years and use it to positively uplift our communities.

Let us again become good neighbors. Don’t wait on your neighbor to ask for help. Go to your neighbor and ask if there is anything you can do to help. Back in the day, we all helped each other. Let’s go back to those roots. When one of us is successful we all are successful. Let us continue to exude our strength and commit to being our brother’s keeper. It is in the strength of help and support that we all rise to higher heights. Peace and love. Thumbs up, like, share, and subscribe.
