We are witnessing crimes at a high rate across America in our communities. The most disturbing thing is the increase in the number of murders that are happening. When a person is the head of a business, city, state, or federal government they are responsible for things, whether they are good or bad. In my opinion, this assumption on how city officials should handle crime needs to be looked at more closely.!
There are things that law enforcement can do to curtail certain crimes like home burglaries or rapes but there is very little that police departments can do when it relates to murders and assaults.
In an area where there is an increased number of home burglaries or as stated rapes, police departments can do directed patrols or increase police visibility in an area but no one can tell what a person is thinking or what that person is planning on doing. I’m saying this to say that it’s almost impossible to police murders.
Politicians on both sides of the aisle like to point fingers during these tragic occurrences knowing that there is very little that can be done so, Who’s to Blame?
It all starts with the parents, according to most reports teenagers are the perpetrators of very serious crimes (armed robberies, murders, and other such crimes). Parents that are not involved in their child’s life are allowing that child to become engaged in gangs as well as other illegal street crimes. Communities need to stop saying that crimes committed by others have nothing to do with me or that I’m not a snitch. This position of not saying something makes their communities become victims of these out of control few., I just recently watched a documentary that talked about a group of fifteen-year-olds controlling an entire apartment complex because people were afraid to say anything.
Yes, our elected officials have an obligation to address crime across America as well as parents and members of communities so let us all begin working to put a stop to the violence that is taking place in our communities, cities, and America.
