Investigation

P.I. Perspective

As a licensed Private Investigator I have investigated several high-profile cases over the years, and as such, there is a huge disadvantage for PI’s (Private Investigators) vs. law enforcement (Police) investigators. Law Enforcement Has the Advantage!

Police get involved with investigations on the day of a crime most time within minutes after an incident happens but for PI”s it could take months or often time up to a year before being asked by an attorney or a victim’s family member for assistance with an investigation, (All Case Should Be Investigated).

Police officers have resources that Private Investigators do not have, assistance from a District Attorney’s office, a state crime lab, the FBI as well as other state and federal agencies. Law enforcement can lie to suspects and witnesses; if a PI lies to witnesses there are consequences of sanctions by the courts.

Defending a case is expensive and lawyers do not cover the cost for expert witnesses (reconstruction expert, DNA expert, or hiring a Private Investigator) these expenses are covered by the accused or a family member. The average fee by an attorney handling a homicide case is around $30,000, and this does not include a PI investigating the case! (All Cases Need Investigation).

Finally, things happen but if at all possible we should not commit crimes because the decks are stacked against people who are charged with criminal offenses. I’m beginning to see a slight shift in juries meaning that jurors in my opinion believe that if a person was arrested and that person is on trial, he or she must have committed the crime (Not true in some cases). The wealthy often get away with crimes that they do (DJT) they have the money to defend cases. DO NOT Commit Crimes, it’s wrong and most people do not have the resources to defend these cases in court! Please let us know what you think about our articles?
