Why I Still Have Hope

Last year, 2020 was a year like no other. We were stuck in the house for a year watching people all across the nation die. We could not touch or hug our loved ones for fear of COVID. Then the vaccines came amid a sea of controversy. However, the death rates and serious complications from COVID decreased.

Now, we are still fighting COVID with flu season on the brink and many people declining the vaccine. I took the vaccine and the booster. Yes, I was fearful in the beginning, but I was more fearful of death from COVID. Additionally, many people still seem to have COVID on the brain and seem traumatized. So many people are angry, punching flight attendants in the face, threatening election workers, disrupting school board meetings, mocking individuals because they choose to wear masks, and just being all out crazy.

Despite all of the aforementioned, I am still hopeful. Why? I’m hopeful because of the many blessings in my life. My health is good, I have food and shelter. I have transportation to get me to and from wherever I want to go. I have family and friends that love me. I live in a country that is definitely not perfect but for now, I can voice my opinion and vote for those individuals I feel will help make this country better. I choose to remain hopeful and not let those that are afraid of becoming the minority alter my way of thinking. I can only live one day at a time and today I live with hope.

Those that choose to live in an alternate reality, beware. No matter how smart, elite, rich, and privileged you are, you cannot continue to do mean, spiteful, bigoted, and vengeful things with no consequences. Karma will find you and your reckoning will come.
Remember, what goes around comes around. I remain hopeful and I will continue to do good things, help others whenever I can be a bright light to someone, and chase all of those that choose to be a dark cloud away. Thumbs up, like, share, and subscribe. Thank you for your support.
