It is on Us

As I reflect on the past couple of years, what stands out the most for me is the insurrection.

You ask, what is an insurrection? Insurrection is defined as a violent uprising against an authority or government. DJT was a principal figure in what occurred on January 6, 2021. He presented a false narrative eluding to the highly detrimental lie that the election was being stolen. Many people believed DJT or had racist, bigoted, anti-government sentiments, or both.

Stephen Marche authored a book entitled “The Next Civil War” and Barbara F. Walter, a political scientist authored a book entitled:” How Civil Wars Start.” What is thought-provoking about each of these books is that both authors believe a civil war could be imminent. Ms. Walter stated she and her husband were so afraid on January 6, 2021, that they were in the process of planning their escape from this country. Ms. Walter, who is a political science professor, and a person that has extensively studied civil wars believes that congress has the power to avert any government takeover. Personally, it is time for all democratic citizens to take a stand and support moral, just, fair politicians. It will prove to be very detrimental to this country if the electorate sits back and allows members of congress to radicalize democracy. Presently what we see are a substantial number of our elected officials being oppositional, counterproductive, and backwards leaning as they were under the previous administration. They are trampling all over our rights and freedoms and slowly moving us backwards to the sixties. Will you just sit back and let this happen?

It is our duty as citizens to encourage our family, friends, and associates to get involved in the political process. It is becoming increasingly difficult to vote due to gerrymandering, eliminating ballot boxes, more stringent ID requirements, and the blatant lie of a stolen election that just keeps festering in the minds of those that wish to highjack our democracy. Local elections are coming soon, therefore we must rally people in our communities (family, friends, neighbors) to vote during these upcoming state races. It all starts at the state level. I encourage each of you to get involved. Vote, volunteer your time to help with a campaign and continue to dispel the lies that are running rampant in communities of color. The purpose of these lies is to deter people of color from engaging in the democratic process. Your vote does count, so stop thinking that it does not. People of color sent our present President to the White House. Imagine a scenario in this country if state legislators and federal legislators are hell-bent on promoting policies that do not consider your rights and do not care about you or this country. That would be a sad country that looks nothing like present-day America. Vote! Thumbs up, like, share, and subscribe. Thank you for your support.
