Change

Since 2008 and the election of the first Black president there has been a “wind of change” in America. As people of color, we thought we had arrived. However, the forces of negative change at that point started to push us back. Jim Crow became “woke,” raised his head and all hell broke loose. Obama and Mrs. Obama were both continuously attacked. The powers that be tried to find “dirt” on Obama and Mrs. Obama but to no avail. She was attacked for wearing sleeveless dresses. She has some of the most impressive arms in the universe. President Obama caught hell for wearing a light-colored suit.

The aforementioned is all the dirt that they could find on our President and First Lady. Shame on those haters. Our President, First Lady, and their daughters are a beautiful family and a great representation of our culture.
Change was upon us then as it is now. As people of color, we have seen this before. The minute we start to make progress the forces of evil and hate push us back. America is becoming browner, and many do not like this evolution. What can we do? Continue to stand strong, do not be discouraged, and make positive strides.

We must stay united, uplift each other in the struggle, and do not have a “back down” mentality. We all are part of this country and our existence here is no less than any other American. Change is here. We must rise to the occasion. The struggle continues. Thank you for your support.
