Who’s Shaking the Jar
I recently received an Instagram post of which I do not know its origin. The post
was entitled “Something to Think About”. The contents definitely caught my
attention. It was truly “food for thought”. The commentary began with the writer
imagining a scenario involving a hundred red ants and a hundred black ants in a
jar. Nothing happens unless the jar is shaken. Once the jar is shaken the ants
attack each other. This shaking action was likened to true-life scenarios. There
are situations where dissension is intentionally sowed. There can be men against
women, one group vs. another group, politicians vs. politicians, and on and on.
My view of the aforementioned narrative is that “before we rush to judgment,
consider who’s shaking the jar and why”. Don’t get pulled into senseless debates,
or empty opinions that serve no value other than to place undue stress on the
recipient. Do not fall prey to those that shake the jar to create chaos and
confusion simply to distract you from the real issues. We are better and smarter
