Life can be Cut Short
One of the greatest joys in a family is the birth of a child. On the flip side when
someone we love passes, we are devasted. Our time on earth can be cut short for
many reasons: illness, accidents, reckless behavior, and other causes. Some with
serious illnesses do not always win the battle to stay alive. Those in our family
that look fit and healthy are expected to be around for years to come. However,
the brevity of life never eludes us.
Just recently two people I personally know transitioned in a matter of weeks. In
late September, my neighbor had a procedure done on his knee. He was
seemingly in particularly good health. He passed a day after the procedure was
done. His death was a shock to our community. A few weeks after his passing I
attended an event at my high school alma mater. While there I had good, positive
interactions with many classmates two of whom were sisters that lived in my
neighborhood during our youth. Earlier this week I was made aware of the
passing of one of these sisters. I was heartbroken by the news. This lady was one
of the nicest, most genuine people I had ever known. When I last saw her, she
personified the picture of health and smiled like a beam of sunshine. I said all of
what I just said to get this point across, “Let’s not take this life for granted.” We
can appear to be the picture of health but can have things going on internally that
we may not be aware of. Cherish your family and friends as we never know when
any of our lives here on earth will end. Thumbs up, like, and share.
