Don’t be Fooled

Do not be Fooled

As we approach the midterm elections there are so many political ads, some of which are very
misleading. There is a big focus on inflation and the economy. A year ago, after a bumpy
previous year, big companies faced supply chain and labor challenges. Many of the higher
prices charged by these companies were passed on to the consumers. At one-point companies
were actually bragging about their increased profits despite all of the aforementioned issues.
They bragged to their shareholders that they were able to charge more without losing sales.
Many of these necessities we have to buy but some things we can do without if the price is
ridiculous.
Corporate greed is the main issue, not overspending by the government as some would lead
you to believe. The previous administration topped all prior spending records. Secret Service
Agents protecting the former president, staying in his hotels/resorts were charged
exponentially more than other paying customers all coming from the taxpayers’ pockets. Do
not talk to me about spending for infrastructure, COVID vaccines, student loans, PPE, reduction
in drug costs for senior citizens, and such. These are all efforts to help consumers. If you listen
to political ads, you would think that the country is at an all-time low. Quite to the contrary
jobs and job production is at an all-time high. Unemployment is at an all-time low. These
constant ads are nothing more than subliminal brainwashing. Do not be myopic. Look at the
big picture. The economy has always had ebbs and flows. We will survive this slight hiccup
with the economy and come out better than ever. Do not fall prey to all of the doom and
gloom ads. We are strong. In regard to people of color, we are very resilient and have a long
history of weathering storms in America. We know how to improvise. We can eat chicken if
steak is too costly. We can bypass the ox tails and try some ground turkey. Remember, what
goes up must come down. Walmart recently had to lower prices on some items because the
prices were too high, and consumers were not buying. Sometimes we do not realize how much
control we have by just adamantly saying “no.” No to the BS of big business, many of whom
charge us higher prices simply because they can. Some things we can do without. Do not let
misleading advertisements convince you that some things you must have. Use your
independent judgment to maneuver through these landmines of higher costs. They will
eventually come down if we show some restraint and simply do not purchase some of these items.
When will they stop spewing these untruths about supply chains? Do not be fooled. Thumbs
up, like, and share.
