Not About Principal

Ok, so now we are past the midterms. The Republicans and their extreme agenda
proved to be a losing strategy. Now it appears that some Republicans are distancing
themselves from Donald Trump. They didn’t disengage from him when he
spewed insults during his campaign for president. They didn’t distance themselves
from him when he fomented violence during his campaign. They didn’t distance
themselves when he insulted Ted Cruz’s wife, Mitch McConnell’s wife and when
he failed to call the mob off at the insurrection. They didn’t distance themselves
when he did nothing while Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi’s life was threatened.
They didn’t mind Charlottesville. They didn’t mind taking away the voting rights of
many. They didn’t mind taking away the right to choose from many. Nor did they
mind Trump choosing Putin over National Security. The majority of the
Republicans did not vote to impeach him after the Insurrection. Most of them
held their noses and voted for extreme candidates. They didn’t mind the
possibility of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security being scrapped. Many who
professed themselves to be Christians rushed to vote for Herschel Walker here in
Georgia. Now many are speaking with forked tongues as they try to distance
themselves from their leader. All of the aforementioned didn’t deter the right
wing from supporting extreme agendas. Now that so many elections have not
prevailed in their favor some Republicans are changing their tune. Ultimately it is
not about principle but “winning and power”. Now that Democracy has prevailed
there is still hope to maintain it. I am thankful for the many people that put
country over party. Thumbs up, like, and share.
