Environment

The environment is defined as “the natural world as a whole or in particular a
geographical area, especially as affected by human activity”. My reasoning for
defining the word environment stems from my observation of communities,
roadways as well as forest trails throughout the metro Atlanta areas. It is
disheartening to know that people have so little concern or appreciation for the
beauty of nature and how it helps sustain us. There are those among us that
instead of paying for trash pickup choose to discard their trash alongside our
streets and other communities (subdivisions). In my subdivision neighbors take
pride in maintaining their property. Just recently someone discarded a set of
mattresses near the parking area at our tennis court. On another occasion, there
was a bed frame and a headboard placed in that same area. This is totally
disrespectful. These types of acts affect property values and quality of life issues.
The people living in areas where others leave their unwanted trash face the
possibility of infestation and health concerns when others leave trash that has to
be removed, in addition to someone else’s trash being an eyesore in the
community. Parents should teach their children that littering is not cool. Adults, be
considerate of others’ property as well as the environment. Let us all learn to
appreciate the beauty of nature. Do your part, and make a concerted effort to keep
our communities green and clean. Thumbs up, like, and share.
