The Journey
The trek through life can be difficult, and it does take a village to navigate the obstacles that this voyage will present; therefore, it’s the village’s caring, understanding, and love that helps the pilgrimage. Life is made more bearable with the help of the people (village) who truly care about us.
In this narrative, time does allow me to give my sincere gratitude to my village nor will I mention names because I haven’t gotten their permission to use them in this piece; however, I’m thankful that they have impacted my journey through life.
The voyage starts with my parents, and there are absolutely no words that can express my love as well as gratitude for the two most important people during this expedition. During my travel through life, my mother was our anchor, her love and, commitment to her family was unwavering, she also taught us the importance of family and giving. Thank you, mother!!
My siblings and my mother’s influence resonate with each of them, the giving, caring nature is reflected in the things that each does for the families, communities as well as on the world stage. Then there are the educators who impacted this voyage. A teacher once asked what was my career goals, I responded by saying I wanted to be a truck driver, and he responded by saying that son, you can do more in life other than driving a truck. That conversation made me understand that the world is full of possibilities.
Then there are others that enter your world that if you listen to them can and oftentimes change your life trajectory in why’s that you never imagine possible. There are a number of these types of people that changed my life trajectory. The first person through his caring self help me with confidence because until we crossed paths, my expectation was low. My career started working in the hospitality industry, and one day a meet a person that I can truly call my friend. This person was and still is an attorney, he help me to become organized, finish things that I start, and honor your word. My current career is in investigations and one of the best attorneys in the Atlanta metro area became my mentor, I learned so much in this relationship about investigations, the law, and interacting with people. Last but not least is my wife of thirty years that allowed me to pursue the many endeavors that caused me to be away from home for extended periods.
Words can never fully detail my thanks to those I speak of in this article but also to those that are not mentioned. My village has made this journey an amazing trek and I’m grateful for all, so what you say to your village during the journey of your life, Thumbs-up, likes, and share.
