Reality Shows

Reality Shows

We have all seen them.  They are full of antics and hijinks.  You constantly see people living what most of us consider to be the “glamorous life”.  We see a lot of cocktails, dining, and over-the-top energy on steroids.  I often ask myself what purpose do these reality shows serve? My personal thoughts on this matter are that they are merely a distraction to keep us down and unaware of what’s really going on in the world.  Know that reality shows are not real.  They are shows with a budget that allows the producers to get a whole lot of bang for their buck. Lots of times folks just get in front of the camera and start acting foolish. We see a lot of fashion, glamour, and people appearing to” live their best life”. The players in these shows are merely putting on a show for the rest of us for their own personal financial gain. It’s like an unscripted soap opera that engages us on a very basic level. Sometimes the hijinks do not shine a good light on the cast members, females or African Americans. After all, is said and done, what do we gain from these reality shows other than mindless entertainment? Let’s begin to spend our time doing something to benefit our community and the world. Toxic actions and words do nothing to empower us.  Think about what thoughts and actions you allow to occupy your mind. I choose uplifting, positive thoughts and actions.  Thumbs up, like, and share.
