Karma Around the Corner

Karma Around the Corner

Life is made to be lived.  However, as we travel through this journey called life it is important that we do it with principle and integrity.  My main tenet in life is to treat people the way I wish to be treated.  Life is really a learning process in and of itself. When we are young there will be many mistakes that will be made.  When mistakes are made the key to growth is that we learn from these mistakes. After we learn the lesson, we move on.  In moving on we will have a myriad of experiences.  These experiences will provide many life lessons for us.  These experiences will allow us to incorporate what we learn from past mistakes to make the present situation better.

In the midst of all our trials and tribulations, we must always treat people the way we wish to be treated.  This involves respect, compassion, and empathy. We can never know exactly how someone else is feeling.  However, we must think in a manner such that we can at least discern what impact the words that we say may have on the other person.  I used to always hear coming up as a child “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”  This is so untrue because words do hurt.  Some words that are said can never be taken back.  I make it a practice to not confront certain issues when I am angry for fear of saying some things that I might not be able to take back. I have a cooling-off period and then confront the issue rationally.  What you put out into the world most assuredly does come back to you. Do not say anything that you will regret later.

Words are important but so are actions. I used to always hear “What you do for God is what matters.” In other words, do for others and do so in a good way.  I always tell others that when you do something good for someone else you will be blessed.  You have to remember that the blessings that you put out there might not necessarily come from those you help.  They oftentimes will come from other sources.  The important thing is that you are out there in life doing what is good and right.  Sometimes doing the right thing can be uncomfortable.  If it is right and good though you will experience discomfort at that time things will eventually manifest to reaping the good that you sowed. If what you put out there is not good ultimately that will come back to you as well.  There again it might not come back from the person that you wronged, it can come from someone else or someplace else.  Whatever you put out there the universe will send it back to you.

Be mindful of the things you do and always seek to do the right thing.  There is an old saying that goes

” If you cannot say anything good, do not say anything at all.”  So it is with the things that you do.  Always seek to do good things.  If someone wronged you, guess what? They will suffer the consequences.  You do not have to do anything. Do not indulge in revenge. Move on.  Karma will find them.  It is always just around the corner. Next time you think about saying or doing something that you know is not right just think about karma.  In this life, you reap what you sow. With that being said, none of us are perfect.  We will continue to make mistakes.  If you make a mistake do your best to go back and try to correct it and/or learn from it. Seek to do good things.  It makes for a happier life, and you do not have to be in a state of continuously looking over your shoulder expecting the negativity that you put out there to come back.  Remember, Karma is just around the corner. Be blessed and in doing so be a blessing to others.
