It’s All About The

It’s All About Them

You help a friend or family member that is experiencing a hard time.  You say to yourself it’s just a bump in the road for them and you just want to help.  The only criteria you have for them to receive your help is that they must make a concerted effort to do better and work towards improving their condition. You simply want to help and ask that they keep you apprised of their progress. You know they have a pattern of not following through on doing what’s needed to progress in life but this time they seem more convincing. You touch base with them to see how they are doing but at that point, you notice that things are beginning to unravel, and they are backsliding.  They begin to get defensive.  They make it apparent that they have their own agenda. You begin to wonder if helping was a good idea.  You feel somewhat guilty until you again have to reiterate why you provided the help.

When you allow others to utilize the resources you have for you and your family you must constantly protect your peace.  There are times when you reach out and help others and they take you for granted.  Do not be discouraged.  I promise you that despite the selfish, ungrateful response you receive from those you help you will be blessed.  The blessings might not come from those you help but from other sources.  Not everyone is appreciative.  You cannot make that assumption.  You have to be selective about who you help. Some people only think of themselves and no matter what you do their behavior will not change.  Be discerning about who you help and don’t “borrow trouble”.  Some people have no concern or consideration for others and the graciousness they receive through the help given.  It’s all about them no matter what you do for them.  Help those that help themselves.  Thumbs up, like, and share.
