Our Food Supply

Be prepared

While speaking with a knowledgeable woman the other day, she posed a question regarding ownership of meat processing plants in the United States.  I, in my naivete just knew our plants were owned by United States residents.  To my surprise she educated me to the fact that most of the meat processing plants in the United States are owned by the Chinese. With that being said I was even more taken aback to learn that the Chinese are steadily purchasing meat processing plants as we speak.

Why should we be concerned? During my research of this issue, I came across an article in Politico by Ryan McCrimmon.  The narrative suggested that House lawmakers recently advanced legislation, warning that China’s presence in the American food system poses a National Security Risk. By the start of 2020, Chinese owners controlled about 192,000 agricultural acres in the U.S., worth $1.9 billion. This current trend in the U.S. is leading us towards the creation of a Chinese-Owned agricultural monopoly.

There has been a myriad of signs pointing towards food shortages. It is incumbent that we prepare ourselves by accumulating a surplus of food and water. It is better to be ready and prepared if and when our food chain is affected. Other emergency items to be considered in our readiness are: batteries, first-aid supplies, flashlights all of which would be of value. Always be prepared and knowledgeable regarding what is happening in the environment, food preparation, weather and as it relates to trending diseases. All of which have either a direct or indirect impact on our food supply. Thumbs-Up, Like, Share and Subscribe.
