Elder Wisdom
During this season of giving and being thankful an old African saying comes to
mind. It states” When an elder dies a library burns to the ground”. This is so
significant as elders are oftentimes taken for granted. They are always there, and
dependable. As a society, we never stop to think of just how valuable the wisdom
of elders is. They have many stories and life experiences that we can benefit from
and that will sometimes ease the load in our own lives. They oftentimes have a
wealth of knowledge that when shared can allow us to see our lives from a
different perspective. We need to listen to their stories, embrace the knowledge,
find a way to maintain it, and pass this knowledge on to future generations. If you
have an elder in your family show them some love, take advantage of their
knowledge, and embrace their past for an awesome future. Thumbs up, like, and
