Communication
Over the years I’ve heard on so many occasions “communication is the key”. This
phrase, though short and simple carries a lot of weight. Communication or the
lack thereof has caused wars. Thoughtful, focused communication can ease tense
situations, be very impactful in bringing about positive change and it can also heal
old wounds. It does not cost anything to relate to others in a kind, respectful
manner. It would behoove us to approach each social interaction that we have
with respect and consideration for those we are communicating with. Realize
that the humanness in all of us more often than not responds well to thoughtful,
considerate and empathetic communication. If there is a situation that causes
you frustration or anger do your very best to not give in to the negativity of these
emotions when relating to others. Times are quite trying these days but whenever
frustration or anger overcomes me I think of the phrase “do unto others as you
would have them do unto you”. It does not cost a dime to relate to others in a
thoughtful, considerate manner. My mom used to say, “you get more bees with
honey”. In other words, be nice, kind and thoughtful when communicating with
others. If you are in a situation that causes you stress and you feel that you are
unable to communicate in a considerate and loving manner, pause, step away and
address the situation when you can be open, honest and kind. Thumbs up, like
and share.
