According to research, there is no definitive answer to the question of whether multifamily units (apartments) versus single-family homes and the crime rate. However, some studies have suggested that there may be a higher incidence of crime in multifamily housing than in other types of housing.
One study found that residents of multifamily housing were more likely to be victims of both violent and property crimes than those who lived in single-family homes. However, it is important to note that the vast majority of residents of multifamily housing do not experience crime.
My work as a Private Investigator coincides with the research by The Hecht Group. Parents with sons or daughters who will be attending college or renting their first apartment or home should consult with local law enforcement in the areas before renting. Law enforcement keeps records of crimes for the area of their cities and those records are public information. You should ask for a crime grid of the address you are interested in as well as a period (1 month or 5 years). Let’s stay safe, DUE Diligence and Awareness !!!. Thumbs-up, Likes, and please Share.
