Traffic Stops
For most of us, our first encounter with law enforcement is usually a traffic stop ? To be stopped by the police while driving a vehicle, probable cause (a reason) must exist. It should be noted that I’m not a lawyer. I’m sharing my experiences as a private invesitagor and things that I’ve learned over the years.
Probable Cause: The following are reasons that a person can be stopped by law enforcement while operating a motor vehicle on our roadways. Speeding, not using turn signals, broken wind-shield, one head light not working, tail light not working, not wearing a seat belt, are all probable cause issues. There are other probable cause related infractions.
Most officers enforce traffic law because they (laws) could have dire consequences if they (viloations) are not enforced but officer are really looking for other (drugs, weapons, wanted person….) and more serious violations.
To avoid being stopped while driving, we should check our cars at least once a month to make sure that all of our exterior lights are working, if a window is broken try to get it replaced as soon as possible, wear your seat, and stopping. Finally, stay out of high crime areas, only visit these (crime area) if its absolutely necessary. Please give us a Thumbs-UP, LIke, and A Share. Thanks for continuing to support our platform.
