Gun Violence
Every day in America there are reports of atrocities in which guns are involved. Just recently the community in Kansas City gathered to celebrate the Chiefs Super Bowl victory but some deranged person or persons decided to do the unthinkable (gun down) unsuspecting victims.
Gun Violence Archive reported on February 16, 2024, the following shocking statistics regarding gun violence in this country. Thetrace.org reported a -12.3 decrease in homicides across U.S. cities in 2023. Gun deaths fell 7 percent from 2022’s total 20, 00 to 18,874 in 2023.
Although the data reflect a decrease in gun-related deaths, these numbers are still alarming! So the question is how do we as a society maneuver these Troubling Times?
Solving this (gun violence) predicament will require the involvement of many agencies, groups, and especially parents. What do you think we as a nation can do to curb these growing gun deaths?
