Consequences
Consequences are defined as the effect, result, or outcome of something occurring earlier. Let’s delve into this narrative from what’s taking place (crime) in our society daily across America.
People often react without regard for the outcome of their decision. Let’s look at a few examples of negative decision-making where people acted instead of understanding the consequences.
Just recently in Kansas City, Missouri during what should have been a day of celebration of that community football team winning the Superbowl. The festivity was ruined due to the recklessness of several individuals.
In the area where I live several young men went to a neighboring high school to fight with members of that (neighboring school) and during this brawl, a gun was produced and several young men were shot.
I believe that in both of these assaults, no one gave consideration to the consequences of their actions. Once these offenses were committed, it was then and only then that the parties involved realized that they were now going to face very serious consequences.
I’m not sure what more can be done to get people to understand that for any decision that we make, there are consequences so let our choices be good ones. Parents have discussions with their kids regarding the choices they make, their decision can and will be life-changing hopefully for the better!
