The Purge
As we travel through this journey called life there will be times when certain aspects of our lives will need to be re-evaluated. Family will betray you; friends will disappoint you; business partners will deceive you but through it all God will always have your back. He gives you all the tools you need to determine who and what you need to purge from your life. Purge is defined as “ridding someone or something of an unwanted quality, condition or feeling. Though it may be hard sometimes to rid yourself of certain people or circumstances it is necessary for growth.
There is no way you can continue to have a happy, peaceful existence if you allow people and things to continually disrupt your peace. Do not put yourself in a position where you allow loved ones to continually use you. God does not want you to be a doormat. He wants you to be a thoughtful individual that cares for others. However, he equips you with everything you need to discern between helping and enabling. Do yourself a favor. Help those who help themselves! Experience is the best teacher, which means that even though you might have good intentions others will not learn the lessons if you are constantly there to pick them up. Do not put yourself in the position of “fixer.” Allow others to solve their own problems. Sometimes all that is necessary is to give input. Think before you react. Preserve your peace.
