Financial Consciousness
At vmgreview.com our purpose is to inform, empower, inspire, and encourage others. Our narratives have centered around various topics( community involvement, voting, violence) as well as other matters that we believe to be of interest to the public.
Today we would like to focus on Financial Consciousness, so what is Financial Consciousness?. It’s defined as, the extent to which a person is conscious or aware of their ability to change their own financial outcomes, or being mindful of the importance of long-term planning and integrating it into their life in a realistic, workable way.
One can assume then that Financial Consciousness is interconnected with Culture. Culture is the beliefs and institutions of a population that is passed down from generation to generation.
This narrative is for all but especially people of color. I’m a person of color as well as our team members, so my point is as a person of color, Financial Consciousness wasn’t a part of my culture; however, this type of consciousness should begin to resonate with people of color if we are to change our financial conditions.
I’m no financial expert but I can attest that once my understanding of this subject matter and wanting to spend time learning about finance things began to change.
Finally, the hardest thing for a person to do is to get started. I encourage all people to change the culture of negative behavior and become Financially Aware so that our next generation and pass this pattern of awareness to the next generation. We hope that this message will inspire someone to take action.
