Gun Violences
Gun violence continues to plague this nation daily. Most of you are aware of the shooting that took place at a high school in Winder Ga on Wednesday September 4, 2024.
It has been reported that there were four fatalities and nine others that suffered gunshot wounds because of a minor child (14yrs) having access to a military style weapon.
I’m not against people owning guns; however, parents in my opinion should be held accountable when they leave weapons unsecured and kids use unprotected guns to inflict violence on innocent people.
Our political leaders have a duty to protect the public by enacting tougher gun laws. Instead most politicians take the position of the NRA by spreading FEAR, encouraging people to arm themselves.
Finally, the violences that continues to take lives daily in our country has to stop! We as parents as well as the public that own guns must make sure that our weapons are stored in a safe manner so that our kids can’t remove guns from our homes. Our political leaders must make changes in the way guns are purchased. My prayers are with the families that lost loved ones in this tragic gun violence committed at the school in Winder Ga., and those families whose lives have been altered due to gun violence across this nation.
