Why Work-Life Balance Matter

Why Work-Life Balance Matters

If I could turn-back the hands of time, it would be work-life balance. My focus during my early years was more centered around work, and my attitude was that by working I was making money as opposed to not working and spending money. The missing element in this equation was Family.

I truly respect and appreciate those (people) that create a balanced existence. A parent that understands that life is more than just work.

A friend of mine and I were discussing our careers. He, like myself, worked a lot, we both worked extra jobs along with our regular position which kept both of us away from home for very long periods, and sometimes days.

The two of us (my friend & I) have children that became adults and we were not a part of their growth and development. It seemed as though they (our kids) didn’t know us and we didn’t know them. Our wifes sacrificed and nurtured the development of our kids.

Finally, achieving work-life balance is an ongoing journey that requires self-reflection and adjustment. Work isn’t the most important thing in life instead it’s your family
