It’s hard not to feel like this country is being run by billionaires and the rich. Somewhere along the way, it stopped being about the people and became all about money and power. The folks in charge don’t seem to care about what’s really happening in the neighborhoods, the schools, or the small towns. They’re too busy protecting their wealth and making deals that benefit them, not us.
You see it every day — prices keep going up while wages stay the same. Families are working two, sometimes three jobs just to survive. Meanwhile, billionaires get tax breaks, bailouts, and loopholes that help them build even more wealth. It’s like the system was designed to keep them winning and the rest of us stuck in place.
What’s worse is that these same billionaires are pulling the strings in Washington. They fund campaigns, write big checks, and suddenly politicians start working for them instead of the people who voted them in. Policies are passed that protect the wealthy, while the working class is left with crumbs. Healthcare, education, housing — things that really matter to people — are always pushed to the back of the line.
It’s no surprise so many people feel hopeless. The American Dream used to mean something, but now it feels like a rigged game. No matter how hard you work, you’re just spinning your wheels while the rich sit back and get richer. And when people speak up, they’re labeled as complainers or lazy — but the truth is, we’re tired. Tired of being ignored. Tired of being used. Tired of watching a handful of people control everything while millions struggle to make it through the week.
At some point, leadership should mean serving the people — all the people — not just the wealthy elite. Until that happens, it feels like we’re living in a country where money talks and the rest of us are left to deal with the silence.
