I often get asked why I am so passionate about working together as a community. The answer lies in my own story.
I grew up in a single-family home with nine siblings and a hardworking mother who sometimes worked two or three jobs just to make sure we had food, clothing, and shelter. We didn’t have much, but we had each other. That sense of unity shaped my view of the world. When one of us struggled, everyone pitched in. When we succeeded, we celebrated together. Those lessons never left me.
As I built my career in private investigations, I saw a different side of life — one where the lack of support, guidance, and community left many people vulnerable. I’ve worked on cases where lives were destroyed because no one stepped in to help at the right time. That stayed with me and strengthened my belief that we must do better.
Over time, I learned that real change doesn’t just happen. It takes people coming together, sharing ideas, pooling resources, and holding each other accountable. Working together is not just a nice thought — it’s how we solve problems, build wealth, and create safer neighborhoods.
This is why I write. This is why I speak out. I want to inspire others to take action. Because the truth is, none of us can do this alone — but together, we are powerful.
So here’s my challenge to you: Don’t wait for someone else to fix the problems we see every day. Reach out to a neighbor. Mentor a young person. Support a Black-owned business. Start a conversation about solutions in your own community. Every small step matters — and every step we take together moves us closer to the future we all want.
Let’s stop talking about change and start being the change. The time to act is now. And I’m open to discussion — I welcome your thoughts, your ideas, and your voice. Together, we can make a real difference.
Our platform purpose is to Inspire, Inform, Encourage, and Empower others. Please share our messaging with others, we need the support.
