” Designed to Control: The Silent on Black Employment”

“Designed to Control: The Silent Attack on Black Employment”

Black men have faced a long history of high unemployment, and today’s numbers show the problem is far from being solved. But what’s happening now is hitting even harder because Black women—often the backbone of our families and communities—are being pushed out of the workforce at alarming rates.

Prior to January 2025, we saw a 12% reduction in jobs held by Black women. The cuts have been devastating in sectors where Black women have long been overrepresented. The Department of Education saw a staggering 50% reduction in its workforce, and 28% of those employees were Black women. Entire agencies like HHS, HUD, and USAID—where the staff was majority-women and majority-minority—faced massive layoffs. These were good, stable jobs that provided economic security for thousands of families.

The result? Nearly 300,000 Black women have either exited or been forced out of the labor market. That is not a small number. It is a seismic shift with ripple effects that will be felt for years. When Black women lose jobs, entire households lose income, children lose opportunities, and communities lose stability.

In my opinion, this was no accident. This was done by design, and for one purpose and one purpose only: to keep the major group in total control. When you weaken the economic foundation of a people, you weaken their ability to fight back, to organize, to build, and to create real change.

This moment calls for us to pay attention. If we do not recognize the pattern and respond, the cycle of unemployment for Black men and economic displacement for Black women will only deepen. We cannot afford to lose the progress that was made over decades of struggle. The future of our families and our communities depends on it.

Call to Action:
We must have this conversation in our homes, churches, and community meetings. Talk about what is happening and share this message with others. Reach out to local leaders, join think tanks, and support policies that protect jobs and create opportunities for our people. If we do not take control of our economic future, someone else will gladly do it for us.

Our platform has been, and will always to Inspire, Inform, Encourage, and Empower Others. Please share our site with others, we need the support.
