For years, our communities have been dealing with rising violence, especially among young men and women. In my last blog, I talked about the causes and some of the ways we can work together to make things better. Today, I want to take another step—one that comes from my heart and from my experience.
I have worked as a private investigator since 1988. Over the years, I have been involved in many criminal cases, including homicide, aggravated assaults, and other violent incidents. In every case, I learned something important about how people make choices, how situations build up, and how quickly one mistake can change a life forever. I’ve seen firsthand how a lack of guidance, support, or opportunity can push young people in the wrong direction. I’ve also seen how the right information and the right voice at the right time can make a huge difference.
That is why I want to do my part. I am willing to speak with community groups, schools, youth programs, and any organization in the Atlanta metro area that works with young men and women. My goal is simple—to share the lessons I’ve learned from nearly four decades of investigation work. I want young people to understand the real consequences of violence, the value of making smart decisions, and the power they have to change their future.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, and I can’t fix every situation, but I do know that sharing real-life experiences can open eyes and open doors. Sometimes young people just need someone to speak to them with honesty, respect, and real examples—someone who has seen what can happen when things go wrong. If my experience can help even one person avoid a bad decision, then this effort is worth it.
For any schools, churches, nonprofits, or community groups in the Atlanta area who want to partner, I am here and ready. You can reach me at m.dixon.vmg@gmail.com. Together we can help guide the next generation toward better choices, safer communities, and stronger futures.
From VMGReview.com, we thank you for continuing to support our mission and for standing with us as we work to build safer, healthier communities for everyone.
