Risk is defined as a situation involving exposure to danger, but for the purpose of this article, the narrative is related to the risk of investing and business. The late John Lewis said there is “GOOD TROUBLE” and the same is true when embarking upon investment or business opportunities. Les Brown once said that one can fail their way into success. What he meant was that there is much to learn from a failed business or investment venture. If you are interested in investments or business first do your research. Also, you can take a class, read books, or find a mentor with a knowledge base related to your area of interest. Most importantly believe in yourself and never give up!
There’s a saying that goes like this “a winner never quits and a quitter never wins”. Just take a minute and think about the aforementioned statement. The statement does have a lot of truth to it. There is a long list of winners that despite a myriad of failures still managed to succeed. It is said that Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) had sixty-three failed businesses before his famous KFC took flight. Despite these failures, he never gave up.
I consider myself to be a winner that always pressed on and never quit. I personally have had several failed businesses i.e., restaurant, janitorial, clothing store, convenience store just to name a few, and all of them failed. However, giving up was never an option for me. My family was involved in a number of the previously mentioned ventures and continually gave me moral support and at times support of a financial nature. I remember the time I tried my hand at starting a business in Cancun Mexico at the suggestion of my mentor. He suggested building a motel in Playa Del Carmen which is located 59 miles south of Cancun, which is a peaceful resort area. This was a successful operation that benefited both of us. However, because of serious personal issues, the decision was made to sell the property. This venture was a tremendous learning experience that made me realize that there is nothing more energizing than stepping out on faith and experiencing success as a result of this faith in oneself and one’s God-given abilities.
I know that through perseverance, encouraging our children and family members, and letting them know that failure is a part of our learning experiences we all come out a whole lot better on the other side. If we learn from our failed experiences then it wasn’t a failure at all. These experiences will allow us to continue to learn, seek out mentors, and seek understanding. Most ventures take time. It took years for the world to become what it is today and it will continue to evolve. The sun will continue to shine through the day and the moon will light up the night sky. Regardless of what happens in the world, there will always be those courageous individuals that will never give up. The sheer determination on the part of many is what makes the world a better place. In closing, I want to leave you with this, “one thing that I know for sure is that quitting is not an option.” As stated throughout this article I have had many failed attempts in business. I implore you to never give up. While moving from one unsuccessful effort to another eventually you will find that pot of gold if you continue to press on. Give us a thumbs up, alike, a share, and subscribe. We need your support, stay safe.

I like this article. It reminds me of a quote that I use. “It isn’t a calamity to Die with Dreams unfilled, but it is a calamity not to Dream.” Dr. Benjamin E. Mays. So, each day is the beginning of a new DREAM.
