Be a Part of the Solution

I’ve been a member of homeowners’ associations (HOAs) and attended commissioner board meetings, and one thing stands out—most of what you hear in these meetings is people complaining. Rarely do you hear someone ask, How can I help solve the problem?

This country is undergoing massive changes that will affect us all. We can’t just talk about what’s wrong—we need to take action and ask, What can I do to create positive change? Politicians are elected to represent the people, but they often only engage with us during election cycles. One way we, as citizens, can get involved is by actively communicating with our local, state, and federal officials. Writing letters, sending emails, and attending public forums are ways to ensure our voices are heard.

I once heard someone say, Some people take what is given to them, while others demand what they deserve. It’s time for us, as citizens, to start demanding what we want. Let’s not allow this current administration—or any administration—to dismantle our democracy. Instead, let’s stand together and demand what is best for all Americans.
